CBD for smaller dogs

Dosage and use of CBD oil

Because each animal and race has different measurements and diseases, it is not possible to accurately determine the dosage of CBD oil for each animal in advance. Be sure to contact your veterinarian before dosing CBD oil. However, the administration of CBD oil to animals is safe and there is only a slight adverse effect even at an increased dose. We generally recommend that you start with a lower dose and monitor your pet’s reactions to it, and if necessary, increase the dose after a few days.

Dosage of CBD oil for smaller dogs

For smaller breeds of dogs, such as chihuahuas, pugs, terriers and others, we recommend starting with 2 drops a day, after a few days increase the dose to 4 drops and finally, if no more is needed, stay at a dose of 6-10 drops a day.

CBD oil dosing for cats

The dosage for cats is the same as for smaller dogs, that means start with 2 drops a day, increase to 4 drops a few days later and finally continue with 6-10 drops a day.

CBD oil dosage for hares and rabbits

There is currently no recommended dosage for hares and rabbits, but since they are similar in size to cats, we recommend very similar dosages to cats.

CBD oil dosage for birds

For birds, 1 drop of CBD oil applies for every 500 g of the weight of the bird once or twice a day if needed.

Dosage of CBD oil for other small animals

For other smaller animals not mentioned above, such as rats, ferrets, gerbils or chinchillas, we recommend giving at least 2 drops twice a day. And of course, always monitor how your pet responds to CBD and adjust the dosage accordingly.
