THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol) is a substance obtained from a hemp plant as well as CBD. The main difference is that THC has psychotropic effects, the strength of which depends on the subspecies or variety of hemp.

The use of THC causes changes in perception by acting on CB1 cannabinoid receptors by making them feel “high”. THC is soluble in alcohol and fats and therefore remains present in fatty tissues up to 130 days after ingestion of a single cigarette. Side effects of THC are memory loss, long-term mood changes, apathy, insomnia, loss of appetite. THC can also  induce hallucinations, change thinking and cause delusions.

Therefore, THC and all products containing more than 0.2% THC are considered a drug worldwide. The sale and use of THC is illegal.

CBD is a precursor of THC and has exactly the opposite effect on the human body – it counteracts and delays the onset of THC effects.
