Like most good things, even CBD oil can expire one day. How long CBD oil lasts depends on a few factors, from the quality and ingredients to how you store it, to mention just few:

  • Quality of the product
  • Ingredients
  • Extraction process
  • Packaging
  • Storage
Full spectrum 10% CBD oil, against sleep disorders, anxiety, stress, depression

CBD oil shall be stored in cool and dark place. Heat together with light will affect the aging of the carrier oil component, which after aging has a significant impact on the taste and quality of the oil.

The best carrier oil for long storage is therefore coconut MCT oil – medium chain triglyceride oil (Medium-Chain-Triglycerides). MCT oil does not have to be split into shorter chains and is rapidly absorbed and, moreover, has a very high solubility, resulting in obtaining the most possible active substance from each CBD concentration.

CBD quality oil is supplied in dark bottles because it lasts longer without being exposed to light. The standard shelf life of CBD oil is 2 years from its production. Of course, if you open the package, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator for a maximum of 6 months. If you take CBD oil regularly, you do not have to worry about storing it. It will last even without a fridge and you can store it on the shelf in the bathroom.

Here are indicators that CBD oil has gone bad:

  • It smells funky – fresh CBD oil smells earthly
  • It’s thick and murky – thickness and darkness are signs of degradation
  • It tastes rancid – unflavoured CBD oil usually tastes nutty, earthy or grassy
