What is metabolism?

Metabolism is a set of reactions/processes in our body cells that lead to growth and reproduction of the cells, thus allowing us to maintain homeostasis and to live.

Unhealthy metabolic process:

  • The work of insulin is not sufficient or is not working at all
  • Thus your blood sugar levels still go up
  • Your liver converts the sugar to fat in order to protect your body from damage
  • Your body stores this fat making you gain weight
  • Because insulin is not working, your cells don’t get energy source and still want more – so even you just ate, you are still feeling hungry
  • You eat more and so on
